Stefan Bekir Assanowicz – President of the Management Board and CEO of Trakcja S.A. Group, graduate of Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw School of Economics and INSEAD Fontainbleau. He started his professional career at the KOLPROJEKT Design Office, where he was a designer of bridge structures, and then from 1977 to 1979 he worked at PRK-15, where he was promoted to the position of Technical Director. From 1979 to 1982 he worked in Libya as Group Manager of Bridge Works at PEBK DROMEX, and then from 1982 to 1986 as Technical Director – Chief Engineer on the Board of PEBK DROMEX, overseeing the markets in Libya and Iraq, and from 1986 to 1989 he worked as Director of DROMEX Libya. After returning to Poland, from the end of 1989 he worked as Commercial Director at BUDIMEX S.A. In 1995 he joined the Lafarge Group in Paris as Polish Market Development Director, introducing the Lafarge Group to the Polish market. From 1999 to 2007 he was Vice President for Development at BUDIMEX S.A., part of the Spanish Ferrovial Group, where he led the merger of five construction companies to form Budimex-Dromex, in which he was President of the Management Board from 2002 to 2007. From 2008 to 2012 he was the main shareholder and managed the investment supervision company ZBM Inwestor Zastępczy S.A., and from 2012 he ran his own consulting company PROINFRA-EKO. From 2012 until 2022, he was President of the Management Board of RUBAU Polska Sp. z o.o., part of the Spanish Construcciones Rubau Group. He currently also serves as Vice President of the National Chamber of Commerce, President of the Polish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and President of the Mazovian Branch of the Polish Tatar Union. He was Honorary Consul of the Republic of Guatemala in Warsaw from 2021 to 2023.
